Letter of Guarantee

A letter of guarantee is a document originating from a bank to a beneficiary promising to pay an amount of money to them if an individual default on an obligation to them.

Companies and business persons present a letter of guarantee when they want to prompt a business partner to transact with them, especially if such partners have doubts about their ability to pay.
